Navalis is a baroque festival with a three-hundred-year tradition held on the Vltava near the Charles Bridge in Prague in honor of Saint John of Nepomuk, the patron saint of all people from the water. Jan Nepomuk was martyred under Wenceslaus IV. and subsequently his body was thrown into the Vltava, although of course there are more legends. He was declared a saint in 1729.
