Šumperk – Mercury from the bus station

The new Šumper bus station was decorated with a statue of the ancient god Mercury. The statue thus returned to the public square from the museum depository after more than one whole century. Originally, this work was part of the fountain located on today's Náměstí Míru. This fountain was then destroyed during the demolition of the old town hall at the beginning of the last century.
Someone may be surprised by the "inappropriate" combination of ancient...
