The ruins of Střela Castle stand on a lonely hill in the valley of the Otava River near Strakonice in the South Bohemian Region. Střela Castle was one of the oldest castles in South Bohemia. A high part of the rounded perimeter wall has been preserved from the castle, supported on the outside by several buttresses, only fragments of the masonry of the two palace wings connected to the wall have survived from the interior.
