Medieval fortress Žumberk

The goal of our trip is the picturesque medieval village of Žumberk, which is located about 30 km southeast of České Budějovice. We can arrive by car or by bike. The village on Sun Hill (Sonnberg) was founded in the 13th century. In the 15th century, a stone Gothic fortress was built here, which was rebuilt into a Renaissance castle at the turn of the 16th and 17th centuries.
