Old Herstein
The ruins of the castle are located in a nature reserve with the similar name "Starý hirštejn". The castle existed roughly from 1272 (first written mention) to 1510, when it was demolished. Its purpose was to protect the land road that led from Horšovské Týn through Poběžovice to Bavaria.
