From its beginning, Varvažov was a village where not much happened. After all, the first written mention dates back to 1483. The village belonged to the Krupka estate until 1580. Other owners, the Kebls from Geising, annexed the village under the Chlumecké estate. The peaceful times were probably most disturbed by the clash of the Allied troops with the Napoleonic army.
