Statue of St. Florian in Horaždovice.

The statue is located at the northern entrance to the castle. The stone pedestal supporting the statue is covered by juniper bushes. St. Florian is usually depicted as a Roman officer and that is the case here as well. The statue, however, is baroque and was created in the first half of the 18th century. The author of the statue is unknown. Although St. Florian is not a Czech saint, his statues are quite common in our country. It also lives on plague pillars.…
