The castle is certainly one of the biggest attractions of the town of Šluknov. It was built between 1566 and 1572 in the Saxon Renaissance style on the site of a Gothic fortress. The castle was built by Arnošt from Šlejnice. The last owner, who owned the castle until 1945, was Ervín Leopold Nostitz – Rieneck. After his departure, the castle was the property of the city. In 1986, the castle burned down and fell into disrepair for more than twenty years. The city finally succeeded…
