Slap dam, or also a water tank Tide is a dam reservoir on the Vltava River near the village of Slapy. The dam was built as part of the Vltava Cascade in 1949–1955. The embankment of the dam is 260 m long and 60 m high, the depth of the dam is 58 m and the water level is located at an altitude of 271 m above sea level. A hydroelectric power plant is built in the dam, where 3 Kaplan turbines with a power of 3×48 MW are located. There are a number of campsites, cottages, cottages, guest houses and hotels in the vicinity of Slapy. Water sports such as sailing, water skiing and windsurfing are available here.
