The charming Baroque castle Skalka stands on a promontory above Zlatý potok on the northern edge of the village of Podbřezí in the Rychnovsk Region in the Hradec Králové Region. The longitudinal storeyed castle building has gables on the longer sides and a massive chapel at the northern end. There is a Jewish cemetery in the Castle Park. Skalka Castle is the setting of the novel Temno by Alois Jirásek.
