The lookout tower was built in 1905 - 1906, on the site where Kozihrady Castle used to stand, at an altitude of 383 m above sea level. In 1905, the centenary of the great German poet Friedrich Schiller was celebrated, whose monument was to be placed on the ground floor of the observation tower.
