The gateway to Jeseníky is the picturesque town of Rýmařov, founded in the 13th century. It is located on the border of the Jeseníky PLA and the Sovinec Nature Park. In the 14th and 15th centuries here stood the Bergstadt fortress, built to protect the mines and hammers, where the processing of rice gold in a small smelter was archaeologically proven.
