Rybniště is a scattered village, located in the saddle between Široký vrch and Plešivec, about 3 km northeast of Chřibská. It also includes the Na Sedle and Nová Chřibská settlements.

According to local tradition, the village was founded in 1515 by two inhabitants of Chřibská. It was first mentioned in 1558 as Nová Ves (Neudorf) and was later referred to by the diminutive name Chřibská Nová Víska (Kreibitz Neudörfel). The village originally…
