Vrkoč is the second largest pond in the system of Pohořelické ponds and one of the largest in the Czech Republic. It is ranked 23rd in the list and is the fourth largest in Moravia (behind Nesyt, Jaroslavický and Novoveský). It extends in a flat depression between the villages of Ivanň and Nova Vsí, south of Pohořelice. The pond was originally built in the 15th-16th centuries when pond farming was booming in our country.
