The town of Rtyně in Podkrkonoší is located in the Rtyňsko - Svatoňovice basin, it is surrounded by the Jestřebí mountains from the north, and the Krkonoše panorama can be seen northwest of the town. It has approximately 3000 inhabitants and the first written mention of it is from 1358.
