Poledník observation tower on Polední hora

The Poledník lookout tower was originally a military building, which served the army from the 60s to the end of the 80s as an observation and interception radar station /similar to, for example, Dyleň/ in neighboring Germany. Already in the 20s of the 20th century, a wooden lookout tower stood on Poledník Mountain. the observation tower has 227 steps and rises to a height of 37 meters. From here there is a wonderful view of the Šumava peaks / Velký Roklan, Velký Javor, Boubín...
