Lookout tower on Strážné vrch

A newly built observation tower above the village of Merboltice, near Žandov.
There has been a lookout tower on Strážné vrch since 1901, it was called Mary's Tower. It was wooden, but because it fell into disrepair, it was rebuilt in 1925 into a stone, 10 m high tower with a concrete platform. There was also a restaurant and a bowling alley. It survived the Second World War , but over the next few years it turned into unsightly ruins.
