It was founded during the rebuilding of Roštejna Castle by Zacharias from Hradec in the second half of the 2th century and was used for breeding large and black game. Today, there is a nature reserve with an area of 16 ha with the largest stand of old beech trees in the Highlands, with the predominant forest beech, accompanied by maple, maple, rough elm and small-leaved linden.
