The unique waterway "Baťův kanal" was originally used to transport lignite from the mines in the vicinity of Hodonín to the company Baťa in Otrokovice. It is now operated and used for tourist purposes. The registered office of the public utility company Baťůův kanal is in Veselí nad Moravou.
