Peat bog in the Český středohoří

The only peatland in the entire Český středohoří is located on the slope of Bukové vrch in the Březina nature reserve. The peatland was probably created after a landslide behind which water accumulated. Two islands of peat have formed in the resulting lake. A round-leaved sundew was artificially planted here, which became the dominant species here. The surroundings are rich in other plant and animal species. Close…
