Pusté Žibřidovice - war memorial

The first look can be somewhat confusing to the passerby. The quite classically conceived Pieta, i.e. the Madonna with the dead Jesus on top of a spirally grooved column, acts as a classic religious theme in front of the church in Pustý Žibřidovice. However, we soon discover that the ledge on which the statue is placed is filled with the inscription "HELDEN DES WELTKRIEGES", and in the stone wall under the church's enclosure wall there is a plaque with the names...
