Next to the castle in Prostějov is the former House of Sharpshooters of Emperor Francis Joseph I. The classicist building from 1823 has been used as the Municipal Library since 1898. At the beginning of the 20th century, the writer Edvard Valenta lived here, who has a commemorative plaque here.
