Dam Křetínka

The Křetínka Dam is located about 1 km west of Letovicice, on the Křetínka River. The official name of the dam is the Letovice Reservoir, but it is commonly called after the Křetínka River. The length of the dam is 4.7 km and the greatest width is 397 m. The main mission of the dam is to equalize the flow of the Svitava River. Furthermore, the dam is used for recreation, fishing and water sports. The water in the dam is one of the cleanest of the dams used for recreation. Tenting, camping and bonfires are prohibited on the dam, except for the Svitavice recreation facility. Křetínka offers several well-maintained beaches, on the side from Svitavica there is a facility with a restaurant, on the beach from the side from Vranová there is a large parking lot and several stands with refreshments. Křetínka is also a paradise for lovers of water sports. On the right bank, there is a yacht section. Fishing is also allowed on the reservoir from boats.
