Prague - Old Town Square - Marian column

Few works have aroused such passion in recent years, rather decades, as the restoration of the Marian column on the Old Town Square in Prague. Apparently in 1680, when Jan Jiří Bendl (and other collaborators) were finishing the work, they had much more modest motives, i.e. gratitude for saving Prague from the marauding Swedes at the end of the Thirty Years' War.
