Prague (Old Town) – Day and Night in Ungelt

In the courtyard of Old Town Ungelt, in front of the Granovská Palace, we can see the remarkable bronze sculpture Day and Night. This is the work of the famous sculptor, Jan Štursa, from Nové Město in Moravia. The sculpture is placed on a high plinth and consists of two – obviously inspired by antiquity – statues. One represents a young man with an eagle resting on his leg, the other a naked girl with a puma.
