Prague, statue of Taras Ševčenko in Smíchov

The statue of the Ukrainian poet and writer, one of the founders of modern Ukrainian literature, stands on Kinsky Square in front of the UN building. It was ceremonially unveiled on March 25, 2009 by Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko.
