We will probably never know exactly when the original church on Práchna was built. The fact is that the sanctuary was originally wooden and was supposed to be the ninth one built on the territory of Bohemia. The church was to be consecrated by St. Methodius, who passed through here together with St. Gorazdem. It is likely that the church was built at the time when the Prague castle was being built.
