Prachatice – Písecká (Lower) gate

The primitive city Dolní or Písecká gate is part of the medieval wall system surrounding the historical core of the city since the 14th century. It is a Gothic-Renaissance fortification building from the beginning of the 15th century, which breaks through a complete ring of fence wall, originating from the II. quarter of the sixteenth century.
The only one preserved (the Upper Gate called Pasovská has not existed since 1859)…
