The monument to Walther von der Vogelweide stands in the park at Náměstí Jiřího z Poděbrady in Duchcov. Walther von der Vogelweide was the most famous medieval German poet and singer. He was born around 1170 in an unknown place. And Duchcov is considered to be his possible birthplace. That is why a monument to him was unveiled in 1911 in the park near the church.
