A monument to a tragic event

The statue with a commemorative plaque commemorates the tragic event that took place on May 10, 1945 here in Březnice. The Revolutionary Guard set up a barricade on the approach road to Březnice, assuming that this would prevent the arrival of the Nazis in Březnice. Unfortunately, after the Nazis broke through the barricade, they broke into the nearest houses and randomly selected 13 civilians, including a woman eight months pregnant. According to…
