At the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, the Grundtal valley /now Bezručovo údolí/ became a sought-after excursion destination. This was mainly due to the members of the local Krušnohorské spolka and their chairman Alois Schmidt. After the tragic death of Alois Schmidt in 1895 on Mount Triglav, members of the association had a mound built for him near Prvný Mlýn.
