Monument to JW GOETHE - Elbow

The statue of the German poet and writer was created by Willibald Russ in 1932. The city paid tribute to the great artist with the statue, who loved and often visited the romantic environment of the city and its surroundings. Goethe also celebrated his 74th birthday here in the company of Mrs. Levetzow and her daughters. The poet fell in love with the young Ulrika von Levetzow and also experienced love disappointment when Ulrika rejected his proposal for her hand in marriage.…
