Firefighter's Record Monument

The recessional monument stands by the road between Břehyní and Starý Splavy, east of Mách's lake. It commemorates the event that took place on 4-6 May 2001, during which firefighters stretched the hose line from Máchova jezera to the Hradčany airport in the former Ralsko military training area. The length of this line was a respectable 47,2 km. They broke the previous German record, which is mentioned on the monument as being buried :-)…
