Pomezí - Markl, church of St. John the Baptist
The remains of the castle or falcon which stood directly on the original land border can be found in the settlement of Pomezí below the Landštejnem castle. Today, the border between Bohemia, Moravia and Austria is slightly further south (ie the triple border). The construction of the castle was started sometime at the end of the 12th century, about the Romanesque church of St. John the Baptist is mentioned in 1232. This is today the best preserved part of the castle. Large parts of the perimeter masonry have been preserved from the church...
