Poličské walls were built in the middle of the 14th century. The main wall has a width of 2,5 m and the height of the walls reached up to 10 m. The entire 1220 m long wall circuit was reinforced with 19 half-cylindrical bastions with towers with a total height of up to 22 m. However, the importance of the fortification gradually declined from the end of the 16th century and its functionality finally ceased brought changes in military technology during the Thirty Years' War.
