Probably the oldest monument in Police Square is the Marian column with the statue of Our Lady of Sorrows. The work from 1707 is the work of the prominent Broumov sculptor Johan Brokof. The column, 3,8 meters high, consists of a plinth and a column topped with a Corinthian capital on which the Virgin Mary stands.
