From the 17th century, the presence of the post office increased the importance of Pohořelice, in the times when Pohořelice lost its status as a town and was only part of the Židlochovice estate. The permanent postal station was established in 1633 on the basis of an imperial decree, which ordered the extension of the Mikulov-Vienna postal connection via Pohořelice and Brno to Olomouc.
