Podlesí (Mála Morava) – Marian plague column

One of the two dominant features of the regular square in the small village of Podlesí, located near the Czech-Moravian border, is – quite surprisingly – the Baroque Marian Plague Column. The beautiful monument was made of Kladsk sandstone and its author is unknown. However, the time of its creation is also uncertain; some information sources speak of the year 1735, others of the period 1750 to 1760, and some "daring people" go with the date...
