Poděbrady - the main castle gate

The castle in Poděbrady is entered from the square through the main castle gate. Today's Renaissance appearance of the gate was created by the Renaissance reconstruction of the castle in the middle of the 18th century. Before the reconstruction, there was a Clock Tower above the main gate, which was replaced by a balustrade. The gate, built of bossed blocks, hides medieval foundations.
