Písek - Alšovo náměstí

Alšovo or Malé náměstí probably used to be the main market of medieval Písek. In the place of the current butcher's shop, there was an exhibition Gothic house, in which the representative of the king - the magistrate, resided. A gymnasium once stood on the site of the oldest preserved school building (there is a plaque in honor of JA Comenius on it), the next building was a well-known hotel and center for balls and entertainment "U Zlatého kola".
