Memorial plaque of Karel Kavina
A commemorative plaque on the way to Sněžka commemorates the work of the prominent Czech botanist PhDr. Karel Kavina (1890 - 1948), who studied Krkonoše peat bogs, mushrooms and liverworts, and thereby contributed to the protection of the Krkonoše Mountains. He participated in the establishment of the Krkonoše National Park and the protection of the local rare flora, for which this monument was erected to him in Obří dole pod Sněžka.
