Beneath the foot of the Ore Mountains, the Nelson III mine was built in 1885 near the town of Osek. The best quality coal in the North Bohemian lignite region was mined here. The main seam was 8-10 meters thick. On January 3, 1934, there was an explosion of accumulated coal dust. The explosion killed 142 miners and completely destroyed the mine's equipment and destroyed operational buildings on the surface. They saved themselves from the entire afternoon shift…
