The village of Mníšek on the crest of the Ore Mountains was founded at the beginning of the 13th century on an old trade route that led from Saxon Freiberg via Sayda, Mníšek, Křižatky, Janov to Most and on to Prague. In written documents from the 15th century, the monk is mentioned as the customs house of Mostek Castle. In the years 1841-1844, a new road was built here.
