Monument to the last shot wolf in the Highlands

The monument to the last shot wolf in Vysočina is also called the "wolf monument". Nearby, in winter, on January 2, 1830, the last highland wolf was trained in the forest. He was shot by forester Václav Mařík from Střítež, who was the manager of Count Mitrovský's forests. The wolf (lat. Canis lupus) weighed 88 pounds, i.e. roughly 49 kg.
