Vítkovice, today's part of the city of Ostrava, was in the past a small village near Moravská Ostrava with the oldest mention from 1357. This small village later became one of the most industrial locations in the former Austria-Hungary. A historical milestone was the year 1828, when a metallurgical plant was built in Vítkovice by Archduke Rudolf Habsburg. In 1908, Vítkovice was elevated to a city.…
