Ginkgo biloba, Ginkgo biloba, is, according to sources, the only species of the ginkgo family from the ginkgo family. It is a dioecious plant, i.e. that male and female flowers can be found separately on different individuals. It is often referred to as a living fossil, findings in old layers have proven the existence of similar plants 300-270 million years ago, i.e. at the turn of the Carboniferous and in the Permian.
