New castle (Neuhaus) on Pálava

It is located in the top part of the ridge of the Kotel bar above the highest local rock, Martinka. A raised mound and small remnants of masonry have been preserved to this day. This is the third least known Pálava castle. In the German version it used to be called Neuhaus. The castle was built by the Moravian margrave Jan Jindřich in 1368-76 to defend the provincial border and as a counterweight to the neighboring Liechtenstein property. During…
