Nové Město nad Metují - Marian column

Nové Město nad Metují - the baroque Marian column with a statue of the Virgin Mary was built in 1696 at the expense of the city in gratitude for the fact that the city was spared an epidemic of plague. However, it was built only 15 years after the plague epidemic, which proves the city's financial distress at the time. The column is located north of the center of the square.
