Nové Hrady-residence (Old Castle)

The town of Nové Hrady in southern Bohemia, on the northern edge of the Nové Hrady Mountains near the border with Austria, was already mentioned in the 12th century. The castle, built on the foundations of an old fortified hillfort, is mentioned in 1279, when it guarded part of the southern border.
