Nicov, a village under the King's Stone.
The road from Kašperské Hory to Stachy runs along the southern slopes of the Javornické Hornatina and is somewhat the border of this mountain range and Šumava. In places below the King's Stone (1058 meters above sea level) around this junction of the Pilsen Region and South Bohemia is the village of Nicov. The first written mention of this place is from 1295, but the dominant feature of the village, the Church of St. Martina, displayed in the late Romanesque style, must have stood here already...
